Treadle, forward motion issues

What I love about the cold is that it shows my my Hydraulic issues very clearly. I know that my booster valve for my steering / lift / tilt / dump circuit was not rebuilt correctly. In the cold it takes a moment to energize...

But one big thing I am noticing, and I have no clue why it is doing it, is that when cold, reverse is snappy and feels strong. But forward is very timid. I feel faster in reverse, and it feels stronger in reverse.

I have not done any testing, but I wanted to start here with ideas, and maybe testing ideas. Clearly the main drive pump is good, so I am thinking it is either Treadle or the control on the directional pump that may be off. Then again, it may be a design issue. I think other Deutz owners have suggested this inconsistency.

Any ideas?

Just a quick question... after the machine fluids warm up, for say 10-15 minutes, does the problem resolve?

Since day 1 the tractor has always felt torquier in reverse than forward.

Yes, it gets a bit better warmer...

There is an adjustment on the tram pump to "zero out" the treadle. Also, there are maximum stops for forward and reverse. I have a bigger one on the PT1460 I think, but I am sure that yours is the same. I know that PT does not want anyone touching the tram pump adjustments, but I went and adjusted mine anyway, because it came set up wrong up from the factory. It really is not that difficult. Hit me up if you need help.

If the PT tends to creep backward when you are not on the treadle, the zero adjustment is off. If it does not creep, the max forward stop just needs to be opened up a bit.

Thanks for the info.... Yes, my PT creeps back a bit. Very slowly. Have not got around to making the adjustment so your info is quite handy.
