That's it the #1 and #8 lights come on and start flashing. You can unplug the sensor and light goes out.I notice there were some valves by the filter I am going to check for trash.

Do you have a non-contact thermometer?

That might help to get a better idea of what is going on. Use it to try and find any hot spots in the system. It could be a stuck valve that is trying to send fluid all the time.

It is possible you have another bad sensor, but not likely.

If your light is going off that low something is wrong with the sensor or the wires. If you disconnecting the sensor does the trick then I would say the sensor. You might want to discuss further with the dealer. Maybe they can test or explain to you how to test it.

The outside is going to be cooler than the inside of the trans, but that is way to low for the sensor to be going off.

It is also poor design on Deere that you can un-hook the sensor and the light goes out. You would think they would have it set up so the light would come on without the sensor. Now you could have an "open" either due to a bad sensor or a break in the wires and you would never know it.

Were you able to find the problem and fix it?

That would only make sense if your oil was actually overheating.
