Changed the transmission fluid for the first time in my 2615 gear. I added the required amount of fluid per the manual but the level did not even register on the dipstick. To get the fluid to full mark took almost more than a gallon more than the amount listed in the manual. I do understand that the FEL uses the same fluid. Is this the difference?

Buck12,
If you serviced the transmission/hydraulic system with any cylinders extended................you'll have a low reading..............until they all retract.. ...........then you'll have an overfull reservoir. Take the cap off (maybe have a clean rag or towel over it as it could make a mess) the reservoir and slowly retract all cylinders........then check the level. I bet you will show about a gallon too much. Then again...........your manual may be wrong. I found this to be true on the capacity of my front axle and hugs.
hugs, Brandi

Cylinders were mostly retracted. The tractor was parked in the shop with the bucket level on the floor. Thanks for the reply.
