Translation needed

I just looked an an email promotion that was sent me from Newegg.com and the page says "Promotional codes expire 2/27/12"

Really? Does that mean the codes expire at 12:01 am 12/26/12 OR 12:01 am 12/27/12?

I have an ATM card from my credit union that simply has "10/12" on the face so is it valid THRU October or does it expire at the end of September?

I have a Visa card that simply reads "Exp. Date 11/15" now does that tell me if my card expires at the end of October or November?

I also have two other credit cards as well as an AAA membership card that state "Valid thru 10/14" or another date. I will never understand why EVERY expiration date cannot state the words "good thru" or "valid thru" when a date is provided.

expires 11:59:59 PM 02/27/2012. I have never been turned down for a promo on expiration date typical use is end of business day.
Both of my credit card do say valid thru, just checked.
