Tractorless :(
I've been reading where some said that the oil level in their BX tranny dropped in the first few hours of use. I went out and had a look at mine and it took a full quart and could probably use at least another pint.

It isn't leaking that I can tell, so I figure they attached the FEL, cycled it a few times to fill it and didn't top the tranny back up.

I totally agree with you. Top it off and it should be fine.
Does make ya wonder though and also makes ya check the fluid level often for a while.

I am up to 6 hours on my l3700su and I have put about a quart and a half in mine will watch it to see if I am losing it or if it is just because of the install of the loader and the rear remotes Randy

I hadn't read about this but have seen many threads on the front axle oil level being low or dropping after several hours of use. It appears they fill it to the proper level at the factory but it takes hours of use for the oil to fully displace entrapped air. Do keep an eye on the front axle oil level.

On your HST oil level, make sure you check it with the FEL and 3PH all the way down. You will get inaccurately low oil levels with any of your cylinders extended vs fully retracted.

Attaching a new FEL, yeah, that's about right.

There is such concern about over-filling, to give them the benefit of the doubt. But, the dealers ought to give every customer a quart of sudt with every purchase.:) That would be a nice gesture, along with recommendation to check levels after a few hours of use.

"Normal"...probably. If the dealer did a full prep, you shouldn't see that. My three Kubotas were fully topped and never dropped after purchase....There are a few time consuming things that dealers need to do...Some just don't.

No harm, as long as you're keeping an eye on things.

That tranny was a thirsty bugger. It took 2 more full quarts for a total of 3. That left it about 3/8" over full on the dip stick. Do I need to pull a bit back out?

3/8 is heavy...I'd dump a little..Just keep the drain plug ready to replace.

I'll bring a big syringe and some tube home from work tomorrow and suck it back out the fill neck.

No need for a syringe...I overfilled mine and just lowered the level through the rear drain a little at a time.

That 3/8" equaled about 3/4 quart. Didn't think I got that enthusiastic with the jug. Apparently I did.
