Trailer WHEELS

I have a trailer with 14.5, 6x5.5 bolt patter and 3.5 center hole. Trying to figure out what truck wheels either 15 or 16 in would fit these axles. Alot easier to find 15 or 16 inch tires. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you need truck wheels for a particular reason? The offset on truck wheels is usually different than trailer wheels....sometimes creating problems with fenders etc.

I figured that it would be easier to get a set of used truck wheels from a junk yard than any other kind. Fenders are no problem as ait doesn't have have any at this time.

Any RV place should be able to get you the 14.5 inch tires, but your looking at about $100 each.. sounds like an equipment trailer, them 14.5 are probably 12 ply tires..

There is a tire dealer about 10 miles from my house and he had 14.5, 12 ply tires new for 20 bucks each and mounted it for me for a couple more. I'de advise checking for a back country truck tire dealer, might save you a bunch of problems.

Should have said that trailer axles are Mobile home axles. Older and real heavy duty hubs. Solid center wheels one piece not two piece. That is the reason I was wanting to get away from 14.5 wheels. Just got trailer and price was ony $60.00. Will be using to occassionally haul my 660 with blade or disk. Also gravel, dirt, mulch, etc. Didn't want to have to get new 15/16 trailer wheels. Thought junkyard if I can figure out the brand wheel.

6X5.5 is a common bolt pattern. Try this site it will give a list.

I just bought a trailer with 14.5 inch demountable wheels. The tire size is 8x14.5. So you are telling me that with these old school RV hubs I can remove my demountable 14.5 inch wheels and bolt up a set of Chevy or Jeep 5x5.5 or 6x5.5 truck wheels wihtout having to change the whole hub assembly and then actually be able to select from a normal array of tires of radial tires ???

Depends. Checked and double checed. Mine has the 6 x 5.5 with a 3.5 bore hole. Check the site that Shutt40 indicated. You will find that the 100mm wheels are what will fit, but the center is 12 mm larger than the hub I have. Chevy hubs are 78mm I believe. Toyota and Nissan both sold 6 x 5.5 14 and 15 inch trucks. The wheels center on the lugs or so I been told. I haven' bought wheels yet. Tractor went down and got to fix it first. If the tractor don't work, don't need a trailer.

Do you want to sell your old rims... I am looking for a full set of 14.5 rims with a 6 bolt pattern. If you know where a guy can get them... thanks guys

Sometimes you can change wheelbolt patterns just by changing the wheel portion of your hubs, leaving the original spindles on the axle. With many small boat trailers you can replace the 4 bolt hubs with 5 bolt units, then go to 14/15" chevy rims. Doesn't increase your axle weight rating but does give a smoother ride and more ground clearance, especially on rough ground.
