Trailer Rental

Hi All,

Quick question: Anyone have any idea where to rent a 14,000lbs GVWR trailer that is wider than 86 inches? I found a tractor I want but my trailer is just too narrow for it. I have a bumper hitch and can handle the load, but i cannot seem to find the trailer that can handle it.

I live in Kentucky and have relatively easy access to anywhere between Lexington and Cincinnati or parts in that area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't find a trailer for rent. You may have to call in a roll back (wrecker) May not be any more expensive to go this route by the time you rent the trailer and buy the fuel to go get it and back

I didn't think about that. Quite honestly I'm not even sure where I would go to find one of those. Any ideas?

You would have to call a local wrecker service. They go pick it up and deliver it to your door

Roll backs (wreckers as some would call them) here, haul cars, trucks,etc, and yes even tractors to just about any location

How far is the tractor? If it was 50 miles or less you can just drive it in a few hours if need be. I know my uncle has driven one 100 miles before. At 15 mph its not too bad.

It would have been about 130 miles, but it doesn't matter anymore. I made the guy an offer. He accepted. Then he sold it out from under me a couple of hours later. No warning. No explanation.

Oh well. It just kinda sucks.

That's shady. Probably for the better. If he is A Hole enough to sell it after you made a deal it says a lot about him. People who do that kind of stuff are not the ones you want to get second hand stuff from. His business practices stink which tells me his equipment maintenance practices do also.

Thank you for all of your kind words. I really was pissed off at the whole ordeal. You are right in saying that if he is that shady then his maintenance procedures are shady as well. Looking back at the whole procedure I never really got the kind of attention that I needed. The tractor probably would have been more of a money pit what I was looking for. All in all though the next time that I find a tractor that far away I know to call a wrecker!

The very same tractor is being advertised again. Apparently the guy got screwed by the person he "sold" the tractor to right out from under me. And now there seems to be a few more problems with it.

I guess he got what was coming to him.
