I just bought a 14,400 21+5' gooseneck for $4500. It was deck over, ramps, 3/8 rub rails, 12"19# I Beam frame with a spare tire and dual 10k jacks. All wiring is in conduit, all the lights are heavy duty grommet mounted and the ramps are spring loaded and lock with a 1" pin that will usually drop into place on it's own.

It beats the hell out of a 10,000 lb tag a long with decks between the axles that I bought for $2800 4 years ago. I had to rewire the trailer within a year, the paint was fading within a month and the lights were the same units used on $500 landscape trailers.

I just purchased a 10400# 20' superdutyII Falcon trailer with electric brakes on both axles a 7000# jack, extra wide with ramps and treated deck. Extended tounge with tounge box for $2700.

I looked at the heavier trailers but after talking to several people with trailers they said unless you have a heavy load the 7000# axles will beat your tractor up.

I will be pulling my NH TC45/16LA FEL/loaded tires and a Box Blade. All in all about 5500#. I will be pulling it with my 4X4 1/2 ton suburban. I think my only weakness will be the truck. This sounds like a good excuse to get a 3/4 Suburban now doesn't it. Well after I get the tractor at least......
