Trailer for a NH TC45DA

Hello,
I am looking for a trailer to pull my NH TC45DA tractor with FEL and Box Blade. My question is will a utility trailer handle this? I was thinking about a 7K 16 or 18 utility trailer. Just want to be sure it's enough trailer. I will be pulling it 70 miles one way several times a year with my 2002 7.3 PSD Dually.

IMHO you are gonna be right on the edge...
Your TC45 is gonna weigh in @ 3500#...
Add 1000# for the FEL and 500# for the box blade and you are @ 5000#...
Just check the weight of the trailer empty...
It needs to be under 2000#...
Don't know if a 16' can get in under that weight or not...
I doubt an 18' trailer will be under 2000# empty...

I have 21k in axles on this trailer but it's only 14' deck length. My TC45DA was tight on length with 14'.

I have a 7000lb 16' trailer left over from my much smaller Kubota that I used to have.

My TC40D fits on there, but only with not with loader and scraper; I can put it on the trailer with one, but not both. And, it is pretty much at max capacity weight wise. There is very little room to try and balance the weight. I take care of my parents place 25 miles away. I had to have them bring their pickup and utility trailer to my house, and load the 6' mower in the utility trailer, then load the tractor/loader on my trailer, tow down, unload, and repeat on the way home...

Really a pain because there is no budget for a bigger trailer, and I only have to transport there once a year.

If I had the budget, I would get minimum a 20' trailer 10k. With a 20', I could load up with the loader and scraper. It would still be shortish if I need to take the mower...

Looking at Newblue's tractor on a 14' trailer, it looks like the bucket is already over the front edge of the deck. If you add 3' for a scraper, that is over 17' of tractor. If you add a 6' rotary mower like mine, you're looking at ~21'(6' mower, plus tailwheel is about 7'. Now, if you count balance room on the trailer, you are really looking 22-24' realistically.

So now we're talking 22-24' 10k minimum trailer...

Not in my budget... Still using two trailers for that once a year trip. Where's the trailer fairy when you really need one

If only it was that easy, I would by now have bought a "car hauler" trailer to move my tractor. Unfortunately, with FEL and any implement my Kioti DK45SC is too heavy for those more affordable trailers...and a bit too long, too...so I'd need a 10Kx20' at the minimum. For how infrequently I move my tractor, I decided I'd just call the local towing company to move it for me. They have the liability during the move and, although I hate the cash layout, it really makes more economic sense (for me, anyway) to pay as I go rather than sink a few thousand $$ into a fixed asset that sits idle most of the time. Well, I'll just put the money I've saved into some other toy!

When I needed to buy a trailer, I went with a 20 foot carhauler with dual 6K axles and brakes on both axles. It set me back 3100 bucks but it is long enough for me to balance my load well and haul my almost 10K pound tractor with FEL and loader rear tires. Anything shorter than 20 foot wouldn't have been long enough to balance the load. I think that this would be the minimum sized trailer for hauling your tractor and equipment and even then will take some experimenting on how to load it so you don't get too much tongue weight on your truck.

Just went through the same search for a JD 3520 with loaded rears. I'm going to get this: ProLine 10,000# GVWR Equipment Trailer

Their 7000 gvr trailer is 2100# and the 10K is 2800#, in 16'. Keep that in mind when you calculate if your vehicle can trailer the TC45. Mine can't move the 3520, but I decided to get a trailer so I could use rental implements and pick up materials. I'd get the 7k, but I have friends and family who can tow the tractor, so it seems worth it to buy the heavier duty one. You clearly need the 10K, and I'd go 20' if I were you. In fact, because of width, you might need one like this: ProLine 14,000# GVWR Deckover Equipment Trailer

I thought that too when I bought my trailer for the last tractor. Again, it is tooooo short for what I have now as I noted above.

that said, I found the flatbed trailer is very useful, even though I have long bed pickup. I use the flatbed frequently. I have hauled my tractor, a old tractor my Dad had, when I had my Farmall-A we made floats for Cub Scouts. Hualed lumber, pipe, firewood, concrete block, hay, canoes for Boy Scouts, fencing, cars, Bronco's, wire panels.....

I have an 8' utility trailer too. The 16' flatbed gets much more use...

I bought this 18 foot droped deck beaver tail rated at 10,000 lbs it weighs in at 2400 lbs. handles my tractor and mower nicely. Tires are loaded too. I have to put more tie downs on it. It came with stake pockets.

Put a hitch and trailer lights/brake connector on your 16' trailer, get a small trailer for the 6' mower and make one trip. :thumbsup:

It is a Delta: Equipment trailers from Delta Single Wheel Flatbeds

It is the perfect trailer for me, a gooseneck with a 18' deck and a 4' pop-up dove tail.


For hauling square hay bales, ramps make a back stop.


For round bales, leave the deck down and the ramps hold the last one or two in place.

I hauled 8 5x6 bales on this and 6 more on a 16' deckover hooked to the receiver hitch.

For equipment, ramps slide in to match tread width, and support the rear when driving the tractors up on the deck.


I ordered it with the receiver hitch from a local dealer in 2006. The delivery fee was $500, so I drove to the factory in Arkansas and picked it up.

Got a red one because when looking at the local dealers, on a sunny day black was too hot to touch for long, but red just felt warm. 5' Dovetails where too low at the back for my terraced hay field. It is 22' long with the 4' Dovetail. Empty weight is 5,000 pounds, 4,000 on the axles. Should have ordered the 8K axles because of the weight of the metal deck.

I hauled the Bobcat V518 across the scales with 12,640 on the deck, 14,200 on the axles, 3,440 on the ball, Just 3,640 over the 14K GVWR.

I own a NH TC48DA and can tell you from my own personal experience that my last trailer I owned was 18 feet in length and was still a little short when I hauled the tractor with the rotary cutter attached. I ended up trading the trailer in for a 22ft tilt with two 7000 lbs axles and wished I made the purchase the first time.
