I want to buy this trailer.
It meets all my light duty needs (I think lol).
Its a short (10 foot flat and 2.5 foot beaver tail), bumper pull, deck over (101” wide) with nice GVWR (12,000 pounds). I like the steel deck. It looks stout.
The problem is the ramps. I like the ramps, but they dont narrow-in enough for my zero turn. UNLESS I want to load “ off center “ like on the right and center ramp, or left and center ramp.
I'd like to remove all 3 ramps and replace them with one, wide, reinforced ramp with a spring assist, because the ramp will get very heavy. Reason why is because I'd like to carry either my zero turn or a mid size skiddy on it. I can also carry 6 round bales for my smaller customer deliveries. OR, would one redesign the tube on which the ramps mount as a single clean tube which 2 of the ramps can be infinitely adjusted? (I would eliminate the center ramp)
1. Can such a ramp be purchased, or is it a custom fab job?
I can get the trailer for under 2K. The lights would also need to be moved and replaced, but that doesn't look difficult.

Suggestions?

A new trailer like this would be north of $5,000, according to my research.
I really want a TILT like this, but I dont think tilts can be had shorter than 16'

Why certainly you can purchase "such a ramp",but then how do you think it could be installed without doing "a custom fab job"? "I think lol".

You are probably going to need a much longer ramp than the current ramp length to get a zero turn mower up on that deckover.

I would cut of the lights and ramps. Move lights to the outside of the rear and use the two wide ramps inside the new light locations. Sell the third ramp.

I would not buy the trailer!

I would not buy the trailer!

Respectfully, May I ask why?

By the way this trailer was originally used to carry a big a Toro 3 wheeled mower similar to this.

I would re evaluate the lights and then move the pivots for the outside ramps closer to the center so you could move them narrower.

It looks like the ramps are welded to the pivots. That’s another problem.

I can’t tell from the pictures but I doubt they’d have went through the effort of welding pipes on the ramps if they were welding them to the pivots.

The dovetail peak is going to cause the problem not the ramps.

The pipes pivot, but the ramps don’t slide side to side on the pivoting pipes
I was thinking keep the ramps as is and just drive up either pair, but then unlikely I’ll get a skid str up them and more of a hassle to raise lower 3 ramps.
They need to slide side to side as a pair, with middle ramp removed.
Also noteworthy I have a large zero turn with 26-12-12 tires. I’m pretty sure I can get over the peak.

I’ve put my Grasshopper on my deck over. It’s steeper than I’d prefer, my backhoe drags the ground loading it. My deck drags across the dovetail and yours is quite a bit steeper. My ramps aren’t that long but my trailer has a 5’ dovetail.

Skinny wheel and a welder should sort the ramp issues, what I'd be concerned with is the load distribution with a skidsteer. When one is backed on there, the center of load is going to be 2.5 - 3 feet ahead of the front axle.

I would see it as way too much time, effort, and money, to modify, to be worth the trouble.
Are the tires new?
Does it have new brakes?
Does it only have 2 wheel brakes.
What is the condition of the wiring?
Rust?
It needs paint
Are those ramps too steep for YOUR mower?

He’s got a 5500. It’ll handle that trailer with its maximum payload sitting on the very front.

If you're going to make one big ramp, I would work on connecting all three ramps together with pieces of angle and then run a continuous strip of flat across the top and bottom in at least 4 places.
You have enough clearance underneath, for a lift assist spring, I would look at the spring style that uses a trailer spring mounted underneath the trailer and sticks out the back a little bit to provide spring lift assist for the ramps.

Then you don't have to mess with the lights or the mounting brackets and you can still have something that is the full width of the trailer driving up the ramps.

All legitimate questions.
The tires and wheels look very new.
The brakes are claimed to be working by seller (can test when I am there looking at it)
Pretty sure a 12K trailer must have 4 brakes
Wiring-unknown
Rust-minimal surface rust, but will check
Paint- yes it is pretty faded. However the trailer will be stored inside and seldom see rain and never see salt.
Ramps too steep- I dont know. That is a big question.

The only way to tell is the eye test, which could be wrong, or trailer my zero turn 2 hours to the seller and try it out.
I really need to replace my small trailer soon and this suits MY needs perfectly, just going to have to be careful.

I dont think it appeals to a wide swath of buyers, so I think the seller/dealer will tend to be helpful with my questions.
