Greeting,
I just received the camera and followed the instructions.
Things looked like "all was well."
First set up took several pictures and I thought I would
enjoy this camera.
Erased the pics on the SanDisk card and set the camera
up at another location, hoping to catch some wildlife.
Went back after two days and it was DEAD.
Checked batteries they all indicated at lest 1.22v
Install 4 new batteries.
Reset time and date, set up at another location.
After two days again I did have 8 pictures, BUT
the screen has ALL sensors on like 8888
DATE
TIME 18-88-88
It will not turn off in any switch position TEST -ON-OFF
What's wrong?

I removed the batteries and then it turned off.
Put batteries back in and attempt to reset date/time.
Half way thru process...blink blink... low battery!
Check all 4 batteries all show 1.3+ v.

I'm waiting of reply from mfg.

Here's 4 of the pic.

What's your guess for the black critter?

Black dog...kinda looks like a Chow?

I have an external battery pack I use with my game cam. It about the size of a motorcycle battery and its in it's own outdoor proof plastic box.

I had couple of those game cams, they went thru more batteries than what I pay for game cams...more so during winter months.

Damp weather I feel would be the down fall of those units.

What brand? Either way there is something wrong with that camera...return and get another. My experience has been about half the cameras you buy have to be returned.I am now trying Bushnel Trophy Cams(2011 models),they claim one year with lithum batteries. So far so good, take infared nite pics(a little blurry at times),very nice day time photos.I had two Wildgame Innovation cameras that were junk from day one.

I've had game cameras since 2004, all Moultrie brand.
My first one (an M40) ate batteries compared to the newer ones.
It died after about 3 or 4 months and they replaced it with a newer (not yet released) model that still runs today!
That got me to buy another Moultrie (an I60 infrared) that was easier on batteries and took better pictures.
After a while the read out stopped working properly, returned it and got it fixed fast for free.
After a couple more years the read out started acting up again and has been that way ever since.
My latest (and best) is an M65 that has bright LEDs instead of a flash and gets good color photos at night.
My advise is get hold of the manufacturer and get the camera fixed if it's stil under warrantee.
If not, buy a good brand name camera and don't get cheap or you'll get what you don't pay for in grief and agony.

I'll agree with the other guys. Just return it and get another. You probably got a lemon. I picked up a Bushnell Trophy, got it home, worked for a few weeks and then tanked. The store they had some returns...but my specific error/problem was special  Anyway, got a different one and we're working well now.

I have two of those Wildview cameras, never had trouble with battery life. You should return the camera.
Looks to be two critters in the first picture, the one in front looks like a coon to me.

You are going to love your bushnell camera. I got two seasons out of the same set of regular aa batteries, and they still work!

Looks to be a dog to me as well.

I'm wondering why you failed to mention the manufacturer of the camera.
Something is a miss, and you have not got what you paid for. I use the Bushnell products and have not been dissapointed. Not to pricy and reliable.
please mention the brand you purchased.

I have a Bushnell Trophy Cam as well. It takes good movies both at night and day. It does not seem to take still photos - at all (2nd cam, same thing) or I just haven't figured it out. Weeds moving in the wind will trigger it. I set it up on a trail and let it set for 4 months. Battery life is excellent!

When I bought my first game cam I had a problem with it false triggering and running the batteries down. I had the camera facing in to the morning sun. After re-reading the instructions it said not to have the camera facing in to the morning sun. It's infrared and the heat from the morning sun could false trigger it. I turned the camera a bit and never had a problem after that.

Unfortunately a lot of the game camera brands spend an unexcusable amount of time bwetween the UPS trucks and the repair facility when they should be doing what they were intended for.
I strongly urge anyone even remotely interested in purchasing a game cam to visit Chasingame.com: Scouting Camera Reviews | Performance Reviews | Trail Camera Models compared | Sample Pictures and Movies for an unbiased review of your selected camera BEFORE you buy it. The site does not sell or recommend any brand, just does the independant testing and supports a huge diverse forum.
My game cam: Reconyx Hyperfire HC600 with more than 12,000 photos and the only UPS truck trip was the original delivery almost two years ago.

Thanks to ALL of your replies.
I'll try to reply to the "crowd" rather than individually.
I did not type the brand name but it shows up in the pics.
WILDVIEW

As several suggested... I have already returned and have
the money in my pocket.

I'll check out the "compare" site and try another brand.

In the mean time "Watch the birdie!".. say "Cheese":licking:.. "Smile" :)

I have quite a bit of experience with game cameras. The Wildview brand can be a good camera but is considered to be a low-end unit. I have made the move to all "mini-cams". Mini-cams are the smaller units that use the 'AA' batteries.

I was never a big Moultrie fan until they came out with their new mini-cams, the M80 and the M100. I, along with some friends bought a total of 5 M80's this past year and have had ZERO problems with them. You can buy them all over, including Walmart for about $129. We bought ours at Scheels when they had them on sale for $100.

Chasingame.com is a great place for reviews as they are straight shooters. I do find their reviews to be excessively wordy and wished they'd come up with a simple rating system. Another good spot for reviews is Cabelas.com and BassPro.com. People that have bought game cameras will leave their reviews online so you get the opinions from previous buyers.

Good luck ith your next purchase.

I bought a Bushnell Trophy Cam recently as well. Still getting used to it but am pretty happy with it so far. I went ahead and sprang for the lithium batteries that they recommended. I've attached a couple of photos from when we were at the NC place during Chistmas.

I have the Bushnell 8 meg but have it set for 5 (3 setting also). It has lasted three months on 8 (possible to use 4) AA batteries at my residential house not up north (more action here). Average 600-700 pics a day including the squirrels and dogs in daytime. It has been great and not a single problem from 0 degree so far. It was marked down on Amazon with buckscore program included as well as scouting assistant software to video and export to wmv for windows playback as well as others.
You can use a 6 volt DC charger (not inluded) if located by electricity.
Samples from my yard (Got it in November, yet to take it north for month at time) Have a 32 gig ard as well (lot of photos at 5x7 5 meg).
Can not go wrong for $150. Made the one pic a sig.

Ive got the moultrie and its been great, batteries get changed 2 or 3 times per year. Infrared flash seems to help too, i get a ton of pics of animals sniffing it because it clicks but they can't see a flash. You can get some pretty odd pics on them too.... I think your first pic is a small dog, the last one is definately a young deer. I left a piece of chicken by mine hoping to get a bear, instead i got a chicken eating deer...
