That’s a pile to envy. All nice diameters that can be processed quickly and efficiently. My piles are all nice straight stuff, but a much wider range of sizes, and usually including a few monsters that you just know are going to be a PITA.

These logs are the result of us girdling and limb trimming young stems about 60 years ago. This allowed the residual saplings to have the room to grow straight and clear.
I am now reaping the benefits of that long ago timber stand improvement.

Not many have that mind-set and forethought. Hats off to you and your family !!!

I pulled out some firewood yesterday.

One of my neighbors came by. He told me that a tree fell into his pond a couple years ago and he wanted to hire me to pull it out with my tractor. He said it would be a good time because his pond is down 27" because of the sever drought we are in. I told him that I wasn't for hire but I would be glad to do it - That's how I have fun.

It turned out to be super easy. He took a couple pictures.

Heading down the bank with winch cable and saw.

He wanted to leave some of the butt in the water and told me where to cut it.

Got it pulled up the bank.

Then pulled forward and winched it up onto the trail and dragged it away

He was a happy customer :):)

You are a good neighbour Gordon.
When I get similar requests I feel awkward charging close neighbours. It is easier on my head to just go do it. When I need help it is always there.
Good will and good neighbours are priceless.

A thinking man. I wish I could have thought of things 60 years ago that would pay off now. Oh wait, 60 years ago? 🤯🤯

My brother and I were young teenagers then and the county forester had marked which trees to girdle.
