Seeing it’s in the water I wouldn’t want to mess with it unless you want to make an episode of Swamp Loggers.

What went wrong?

Like I said, it was a heavy leaner hanging over my saw yard. Cut the face cut and when cutting the back cut internal pressure took over and it broke loose too early! but its down now so just clean up time left.

We are encouraged to work with the Fish and Wildlife people to strategically place trees in the water. It enhances habitat, and as the tree rots it releases nutrients into the water.

And that's the story I would tell.

I get some gynormous logs floating down that river!! I'm a bit amazed sometimes!

Never heard of gynormous trees. Are there a lot in South Carolina? do they make good firewood? Oak and maple are best up here in northern MI.

Well the ones I was talking about have been somewhere in that river for years it looks like, So I'm thinking they are probably not good for a whole lot. And there does seem to be a lot of them here in my part of South Carolina! Oak, hickory and sweetgum are the main trees in my firewood collection.
I'll take a pic of some of those logs next time I'm down by the river for ya!!

That one coulda used a plunge cut with a strap release.

I put NEW blades in my planer today, talk about it now making a smooooooth cut,

SO, with the old blades out, I got out my knife grinder,

and sharpened them, and set them aside, I should be all set for a while now!

Who ever said living in the sticks is cheap?
We have to have so much stuff to stay independent.
Freedom ain't cheap either but it is priceless.

I totally agree, and I thought about that, unfortunately, after the fact!
