When I was a kid in the same era we called that "Funny Meat". It was a treat and usually only served for a Saturday lunch.

We had a similar sandwich filler made with spam and pickles. We thought it was fun to crank the grinder.

The township is replacing the culvert along the road on my property. They had some trees to remove and I got a nice pile for firewood today.

A lot of people don't understand the concept of a road ROW, or that the town doesn't need your permission to work there. A friend once had a lot of dirt work done, and intentionally put his retaining wall just inside the row. I tried to explain that if the town needed to work on the road than all of his work was for naught, whereas uf he moved it 3 feet west they would have to compensate him if they tore it down; but he had some reason for doing it the way he did.

As a surveyor, you understand more about it than I do. 😉
