My helper and me, cut a load of firewood yesterday morning...

I lifted and held the firewood logs over my wagon, and he cut them to length,

Here's the two star's of our show, my old Husqvarna 55 and Jonsered 2260,

We ended up with a pretty good load, for a short mornings work, as my helper had some other things he needed to get done in the afternoon...

Next, will be to get it all split...

My father and I finished cleaning up that silver maple. Going to haul that load up to the local "dump" that has a huge tub grinder and will eventually turn them into wood chips

I'll bet a local woodturner would have hauled away some of those larger pieces for free...

I left the ones up to ~36" that weren't rotten in the middle. There is Guy coming to get them. The stump was ~4' or so.

Your suggestion of splitting directly to storage is spot on. I picked up some ICB metal pallet cages and split directly to them. It has saved a ton of time and handling. Nice video.

Hauling the logs to the storage area and cutting and splitting them is my preferred method. If that doesn't work I'll cut and split where the tree fell then load the splits in my tractor bucket than dump them in my dump truck, and dump it at the desired location.

I didn't know deformed trees begat deformed trees and straight trees begat straight trees. I figured it was environment, not genetics. Learned something new today, and it's still early
