This cherry trunk was a bit more than the little Kioti wanted. I was able to curl it to get it off the ground but that's all she wrote. Cut it in half and no problems at all.

It sure did well to get that big log off the ground.

What is the lift capacity of that little tractor. It is pretty impressive to even curl it. What is the size of the log?

Lift at the pins is rated at just under 1100lbs. And I've added the extra weight of a toothbar and grapple but it still does well. The breakout is rated around 1800 lbs.

That log was about 25" across and 8' long. The tree had rotted at the base and came down in the last wind storm.

Ah, the smell of diesel/pine smoke in the morning...this was a 6x6x10 pile of pine limbs. Seemed as if I would never take off and burn.

Next time bring your leaf blower. They take off in a hurry with a little extra air.
Just don't stand to close to the fire with the leaf blower it works really well. . I did that a few years ago It was between 0 -10°F outside. burn pile consisted of 20-25' length Box exldeder stacked ~10 ft high and 12 -15 feet across.

when I got back to the house I was looking at the TV trying to figure out why it looked funny. Closer inspection revealed that the heat had caused the anti scratch coating to Spyder cracked on my glasses. $150 later I had new lenses.

I'm sure with the right wood you could have a giant open forge.

And if you have forgotten your leaf blower, and your tractor exhaust points to the ground you can park near to the fire and direct the exhaust at the fire. Keep your foot hovering over the reverse peddle. I've often gone down the following morning and used this method to restart the unburnt ashes of the previous days fire. (i don't own a leaf blower)

Here is pic of a new system I'm trying out. I take these bins and my splitter right to where the tree is and load Them up. I load them back on the trailer and head home. I can easily put the wood anywhere out of the way I want with the forks. When needed I bring it right up close to the door. I don't have to touch the wood again until I'm bringing it to the splitter.
