And that is the true definition of an entitlement program. It has nothing to do with people feeling entitled. It has to do with being legally entitled because of the rules of the program. But yes I do “feel entitled” to social security benefits because I participated in the program.
The negative connotation of entitlement I feel, has more to do with some people having simply exclaimed they are entitled based on nothing they have worked for. Nonetheless, they still feel entitled based more on social or political correctness.

For sure you’re correct. I was just explaining that it also has a connotation and usage that isn’t negative when referring to SS and Medicare.

Computers have gotten better, but the prices haven't gone up for almost 40 years.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree. My first few computers cost about $250 to $300, now they seem to start at $800 here. My first Iphone cost me $100. I'm still using that Iphone 5S because I'm not going to put out $1000 or more for a new one unless I have to.

Apple //e back in 1981 with monitor, 2 floppy drives, IEEE card and 40 cps Daisy Wheel Printer, 1200 Baud Modem and VisiCalc was about 4k all said and done...

My Windows 98 with color monitor and color printer was half that.

Windows 7 laptop with color printer was about half the Win 98 purchase.

Years ago I paid less that $300 for a computer
I see a lot of the laptops are under $500 but
most of them must be at least 10 or more years
old as the speed is approx 2.5 mhz and dual core
rather slow Some of the new computers are 5 ghz
and 8 to 12 core

Care to provide a substantiating link to your comment (other than the X link which says nothing about what you allude to). Don't read between the lines. Doing that is tantamount to just observation.

If Mexico does have some sort of law in place, they certainly not enforcing it from what I see.
Nope.

I'll supply links after you link to one conversation anywhere on TBN in which Poster
B exclaimed "That's something I didn't know. Thanks for the link. The information linked changed my outlook!", after reviewing linked content supplied by Poster A which contrasted with Poster B's opinion.

Besides, it's already a moot point. The 2nd party to the phone call has called the 1st Party's release of information "BS".

Mexico slowed the border crossings considerably the last time we threatened tariffs. They have so much of our manufacturing now, that they are no longer the poor old mexico of yesteryear. Drug trafficking is huge from mexico and china and it needs to stop, our citizens are worth that. The old "phony" war on drugs, was never even a skirmish, just talk.
a touted benefit of Mexico tarrifs is that it will curtail drug trafficking. i can see stricter border policies having that effect, but how will tariffs stop drug trafficking from Mexico, how will it work? just a question, regards

My first computers may have been a bit earlier then yours, just add a zero onto your prices, I'm thinking it was $2800 then it got upgraded to an actual hard drive which was over $1000 just for the drive and then the card and cables to power and use it.
Now my current phone is a Motorola Power G which I got on sale from Motorola for $300 a few years ago.

The theory is Mexico will curtail the drug traffic to have the tariffs removed
Mexico is firing back that illegal gun traffic into Mexico from the US is a big problem for them in their attempts to take down drug cartels. They want the US to step up on that issue.
