Tractor
Mahindra 4110
I have a Mahindra (TYM) 4110 that won’t shutoff when you turn the key off. It’s been like this for years. We have always just pulled the t-handle to kill the tractor. Well I thought it was a bad solenoid so I ordered one. Installed it today and it still doesn’t work. Not getting power to the solenoid. Is there a fuse panel on this tractor? I haven’t been able to find one. Inline fuse to check? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance

Check your negative battery cables ground to the frame. Detach the cable from the frame, wire brush it and the cable and reattach.

There is a timer in the circuit, I think it's in the dash. When you turn the key off, it energizes the solenoid for maybe 10 or 15 seconds +/- to kill the fuel then will de-energize and let the solenoid release for the next start. You should have a small fusebox under the hood at the firewall - my 2001 model does. My system has always worked electrically like it's supposed to but on very rare occasion the solenoid alone would not kill the engine and I had to pull the T handle in addition to the solenoid working.

Nice that yous are provided the "T handle". My 7520 does not have one - or didnt until I noticed and rigged up that IMPORTANT kill option.

Found the fuse panel. Looks like the fuse powers the key switch and the PTO. Fuse looks good and the PTO works. So must be the timer. Looked that part up. $199. Looks like I will just continue pulling the t-handle. Lol

When this happened on excavator I needed to replace the ignition switch. Works fine now. Now my Mitsubishi Dozer is starting to do the same thing, I bought two switches at the time so I have matching keys now.

T-handle?

My manual shutoff is the universal type, vice grips on a fuel line. Never have had to actually try it, but that may only be a matter of time and luck.

The injector pump has a spring-loaded external linkage that shuts fuel flow internally. The electric solenoid moves this linkage to the closed position for X amount of time to kill fuel flow inside the injector pump. When solenoid is de-energized, the spring returns the linkage to the open position. The T handle is just attached to a cable, similar to a manual choke cable, that attaches to the same linkage the solenoid is and overides the solenoid action no matter what position the solenoid is in.
