Its not quite that bad since each tread bar is longer ... but ... the traction load on each bar will be increased on the lower count, contributing to wear in hi thrust usage. The Crop Max spec. didn't say anything about the rice field, but I think your right, hope they do good in snow.
Don't know what is but when/after I build or buy something, someone always brings up a point that never would of dawned on me. Now I have a bad feeling about these 7-16 tires, so I counted the tread bars on them. I have 13 pointing in and 13 pointing out, 13 has always been my unlucky number. The Galaxy's I replaced had 22 inner's and outer's tread bars, I'll go get my calculator and try to figure out how many tread bars I lost, then see if I can estimate if I can get atleast 200 hrs. out of them. Lessons Learned, count the tread bars before buying.
Exactly! Bar separation/count, bar angle, depth, shape, ... bias or radial all have an effect variably suited to conditions. I would sure like to see a good experimental study.Reading this post has my heading swimming. What are the tire basics when looking for a new set of tires pertaining to tread count? I mean is there a basic number of treads to use in general farming? I guess you could call me a weekend harmsteader but I hope to change that in the next year or so. My use of my tractor will increase then. Tries are ok now but will need a set in a few years and so I like learning before I spend my hard earned money.
