I'll agree to disagree on that one. A big stump here is about twelve feet in diameter out at the edges of the root ball and averages a couple of feet thick. Heaved up or not all the dirt that is caught between the roots belongs in the hole it came from. Even as it starts to settle from rot clattering on a rotten stump cut close dose a lot less damage then clattering on a chunk of blue ledge. When I'm mowing a piece every year I remember where the hazards are and pick up over them.
