Thanks for the good words. He has a trailer, but likes to leave it behind because he found it makes a difference in the hills he can climb. I need to work on some traction for him, but don't want to overload the drives.

As for driver training, I'm a bit concerned on the tractor side of things considering this weekends new "learning experience" has been to put a ramp onto an empty pallet and jump, well, thunk, off the other side!

What is the saying, if you pick up a cow everyday from the day it's born, you will be able to pick it up when it's grown? Well, we started my son with a toy tractor and worked up to a lawn mower, then this Yanmar. Well, we had some help with a pond scoop full of dirt off picture.

Gonna be a while before he graduates to Bigger Blue, but the JD140 may fit him in a few years.

And then there's the plans to convert his current rig to gas when he outgrows electric. (Mom rolls eyes)

It's amazing how quickly they get the grasp of what the round thing is for!

I guess even the Deere toys are now plastic. My Deere pedal tractor was all metal but that was a year or two ago. My daughter has expressed very little interest in anything tractor related. Next week we should find out what #2 is. Maybe it will be tractor loving boy. Your munchkin looks like is he having a ball.

They do still sell them in metal, and they are still pedal powered. The electrics are all plastic.

We were at the local Farm Exhibition show today which had some blue, green and orange tractors. He climbed aboard the orange and immediately did what is shown in the photo. I guess without a cab he feels a little insecure! At 5 he knows more about tractors than I did his age and knows how to operate the loader!
