The JDS950 type diaphragms & associated parts on fuel filter housing weren't installed on JD models A,50,60 or 70 when they rolled off assembly line at Waterloo.

You needed to do what a friends dad did years ago. He owned a small electrical company and on the way home one night in his work cloths stopped at the Chev dealer wanting to buy 4 new company service vans. Walked in in work clothes not one sales person even greeted him. He wandered around he said for 10 minutes and the sales people offered no help. Walked out to his truck drove to the Ford dealer walked in was greeted and ask what they could do for him. He said they could sell him some vans and proceeded to buy 4 new trucks. Now the funny part. After the deal was signed he asked the sales guy if he would phone the Chev dealer and thank them for ignoring the gentleman that was just in their showroom a little earlier because he just sold him 4 vans. With a big smile he picked up the phone
I had a similar experience once but from the vender's side.

When I was a sales rep for forklifts in walked a farmer in his work clothes.
All the reps ignored him but I welcomed him and asked if I could be of help.
After about 5 mins he flipped open his briefcase that was full of cash and said "I'll take it"

The bummer was we had defined territories and I got zip commission, not even a 'thanks'.
(however the boss did acknowledge my efforts in other ways)

Its nothing new. 10 years ago i went to the JD dealership that i had frequently went to since i had purchased my old jd870. I told them i wanted a cabbed thactor in the 40-50 hp size. The salesman told me its too expensive for me and i should look at open station. I got up and left. Never went back. This was not a new employee. It was the same guy ive dealt with for years. The local kubota dealership told me to go browse lot myself, but they were too busy to allow a test drive. I too left. I went to another tym/kioti lot and the sales guy came and spent an hour going over the tractors. Guess where i bought my tractor.

and years later, when i go for parts there still friendly and helpful, and dont gauge me on parts prices. I have actually found hydraulic and oil filters cheaper there than online.

In the auto business you really can't judge by appearances.

Never more true when my grandfather sold a fleet of trucks to someone that appeared not to have two nickels to rub together

The opposite is also true. Some appearing to be well healed are up to eyeballs in debt.
