Any tractor loggers here know who makes a decent snatch block / pulley that can handle logs. .

I know I've seen recommendations here, but most pulley and block searches are about engine parts.
Will ones like this at Tractor Supply Champion Power Equipment™ Single Pulley Snatch Block, 8,000 lb. Capacity - Tractor Supply Co. really hold to their rated 8000lb? At $30 bucks should I just grab one, and hold/out shop around for a self-releasing one? What do they $run? Any good brands? (web) Stores?

Thank you.

Check out the Wes Spur website: 5/8” Pulleys

I got the first one on the list several years ago and it's been good. Might also want to check Bailey's and Labonville websites.

I sure wouldn't pay $30.00 for that thing. Keep looking and get youself a good snatch block.

If you can cut and weld metal you could make your own.

Here is what you want. I use one with my Igland logging winch, it doubles capacity of winch to 8,000#. It has a grease zerk and opens up to allow the cable in/out. Great tool. Get it with a short double loop end tree saver strap. Look under clamshell snatch blocks.
4050 Snatch Block (3/8" wire x 4" sheave)

The above one is the exact one I have.

Coyote, that one would not be ideal for logging due to weight and design -- you want a simpler flat rotating plate design if possible, to be robust under dirty/muddy conditions. Plus I'd go with thicker rope capacity. For logging, I recommend either 5/8" or 3/4" ropes.

Do those allow you to install /slide the cable through without getting some wrenches?

Of course -- all split plate blocks do. The two halves rotate about the same bearing as the pulley wheel.
