Kubota B3000HSDCC, BH77, 5' Belly Mower, 6' Hyd. Angle Plow
Hi all,

I'd like to ask if anyone can recommend a good, lightweight cover for a compact tractor for INDOOR storage. Our (cabbed) Kubota B3000 has the BH77 backhoe and FEL on it, currently, so it's 18.5' Long x 7'1" High, and the FEL's bucket and mower deck are both 5' wide.

I would like a breathable, lightweight cover that will be "kind" to the tractor. :)

The reason I need a cover is we have not yet hired a professional to remove the bats that live in our barn, and while they generally drop their guano against the far wall, some of it does seem to "migrate" within the general space. So I want to cover the Kubota while it's in there, until the bats are evicted (which won't be until next summer, and is a costly project).

Again, since it's for INDOOR storage, on the upper floor of our barn, I do not want a waterproof cover. While the upper floor is dry and reasonably-well ventilated, the downstairs is quite humid, so I want a "breathable" cover so as not to trap humidity (from the lower floor) under the cover, while the tractor sits on the upper floor.

Thanks in advance--you guys are the best!

Covering a cab tractor would be kind of impractical. When I was a kid we got a bird infestation. In order to keep the tractor clean we nailed visqueen to the bottom of the rafters to keep the birds from roosting directly above the tractor and making a mess. Strips of 1 x 2 held the visqueen from sagging.

This sounds like a perfect DIY project. Old bed sheets. Get out the thread injector and cardboard aided design and go to work if you want it fancy!

Daisy Red Rider BB gun for the bats?

I don't think I would worry about covering a cabbed tractor indoors.

A few strategically placed ultrasonic transmitters for pest control may do the trick.

This sounds like the perfect use for a surplus military parachute. Very lightweight, breathable, and can be found in different sizes. They used to be real cheap but guessing the WW2 excess supply has dried up by now. Still, a google search, ebay, etc. might turn up one that would work just right.

First - I would not worry about a little bat poop. Most any type of cover will encourage mice and chipmunks.

Second - the bats are providing you with a great service. Insect( particularly mosquitos ) removal. You, most likely, will never rid your barn of bats - until you provide an alternate shelter. A properly constructed and located bat house.

We put the babies that fall on a long stick and hold them up, a wing swoops down and scoops them up.
