Been a while since I posted, what are folk's doing to preheat the hyd. oil tank, my little 418 doesn't like
cold weather, have a little over 1000 hrs doing mainly loader work

I have successfully used the magnetic heaters on my PT1850. A heated shop is nicer.

I do nothing. Well, that doesn't help, does it? Sorry :laughing:

I've had the 425 for 13 years. I change the hydraulic filter about once per year. And at each filter change I add 1 qt of Mobil1 synthetic oil. So out 10 gallons or so, I've partially diluted it with 3.5 gallons of synthetic. I also run synthetic in the engine since the first oil change.

I've started well below zero with no pre-heating of the hydraulics or engine. Only an occasional shot of starting fluid.

I have an old kerosene heater that I set next to the 422 for at least an hour or so. Usually does the trick and takes the chill off the seat too.
