I believe I have discovered the perfect compromise between a box rake and a Harley type rake for seedbed preparation. While surfing the internet I ran into the TR# rake by a company called Absolute Innovations. I actually went to their location and saw one in operation. Because I have a Kubota BX23 I was forced to buy the 42" rake instead of the larger model. I used it for the first time yesterday on my "hard as a rock" lawn-to-be. What a pleasure compared to a box rake! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Interesting attachment. I saw two of these last week at Chappells.

I wouldn't mind getting one of those except for one thing: The Price. Wow is it expensive............

Yes....It is expensive. I paid $2250 for mine but I have rented a Harley rake for $250 a day including the skid steer. I also priced a Harley rake for $7,500. The performance of the TR3 may be even better. I will have to get back to you on this since I've only used it for about an hour so far.

I have the same one (42"). I use it all of the time for seedbed preparation. I find that if it is not doing a good job, usually a slight adjustment will make a world of difference. They are expensive, but I have hit about everything (rocks, roots, etc.) and it has not broke. I have a CK20 and with the scarifiers down in compacted soils that is a handful for the tractor.
