I used to have a 1-1/2" drive snap on torque wrench for a single bolt I had to torque to 600 ft pounds. Thing was a beast.
LD1- I'm curious about your statement. You are saying if you put a 4 ft cheater pipe on a torque wrench you only have to torque to 111 ft/pounds? Not sure I understand that. If it was true and you were using the wrench by itself and instead of putting your hand at the end of the handle you put your hand in the middle of the wrench would you double the torque necessary? I don't think so. I dont think it matters how far from the socket you are pushing as the torque is measured at the socket not the end of the handle or cheater pipe. What am I missing?
