total users vs active

Curious, how many users are active, versus the total number registered?

Some like me and Bird and RAT have been here forever(although nowhere near Birds post count! ). But, many others register, ask a few questions, and are gone.

Any idea for a week or a month, how many users are active?

I'm still here.... and somewhere in between the two options you described. As you can see, I've been here a long time lurking in the background.

I monitor the forums daily with my Blog reader and quickly scan through the posts to see what interests me. I usually read a half dozen or so per day, but rarely reply.

I'm not sure if I'm a typical user or not, there might be a lot of us hiding in the weeds.

I find a lot of the posts on this site very informative i.e. safety tips, how not to break the cooling fan on my HST, but if I do, I've seen how to repair it and how not to repair it.

I usually get a chuckle from at least one of the posts every day, so all in all, I enjoy being a quiet reader of this great forum.

And maybe I'll make an effort to contribute to a few more posts.

Of the registered users, 2-3k log in per day; 8-10k per month and 30-40k per year.

I log in average five days a week. I try to read the daily posts. I have asked for help and tried to offer help also. I enjoy the site and reccommend it to others. Have fun and stay safe......

Interesting question. Not surprising the majority of members prefer to read the topics and choose not to respond. :confused2: Many are here go get advice and not experienced enough to give advice.
This is a great forum to ask questions and get answers. Picking the brains of people who have already had the experience of dealing with particular problems. Also offering suggestions on how to prevent problems and other helpful suggestions.
