Does anyone know the torque stats for the TC40, 45, 48 and 55? I can't find these stats online and I want the exact numbers for comparison. The dealer is closed but I'll call tomorrow if I can't dig them up.

I want the max torque at rated engine speed for an accurate number.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, I checked the engine section of my Repair Manual and there are lots of specs on tolerances and clearances, but no engine torque specs. Only the gross HP is listed. I don't know that I've ever seen numbers on torque or seen torque vs. HP curves anywhere.

I would like to know also, and looked hard for that info. I suspect that the older 2120 tractors may have produced more torque than the newer engines.

HP = RPM*TORQUE/5252

TORQUE = HP*5252/RPM

Use engine HP & RPM (~3,000+/-) if you want available engine torque

Use PTO HP & RPM (540) if you want available torque at the PTO

This calculation may not give maximum torque (which is usually available at lower rpms), but deisels have pretty flat torque curves, so should be a reasonable comparison...

Edit here

All models are gear trans (you didn't specify)

HP PTOHP RPM Eng Tqe PTO Tqe
40 35 2600 80.8 340
45 39.6 2600 90.9 385
48 40 2800 90.0 389
55 47 2700 107.0 457
