Saturday when at my Local Dealership after repair of my Backing Up Crash the Parts Manger says you know where you hook up your top link probably probably was the cause of most of your damage don't you. I looked at him kinda confused after all I have been operating tractors for close to 40 years. He say's yes on these Kioti's it is reverse from what it is on Fords and Massey's!! You need to use the top location and not the bottom if you had it connected there you probably would have not torn up anything. Is that a true?? If so it would have been nice if the salesman would have shared the type of information. Have you folks heard this before???

The different top link locations have to do with draft control. The top location is what you use with no draft if I recall. This is outlined in the manual. Not sure how backing up and pin location would have made any difference in your case though. Once I had a gooseneck 3pt hitch on and was pushing back my trailer and some resistance was encountered. The draft control did kick in and raised the trailer on me. That was unexpected and scared me for a moment. Since I don't plow, I just always use the top pin location now.

OK. Maybe. The leverage is greater on the bottom hole and jamming a robust implement could be a big deal. ... For any hole; just less. Sounds like Kioti should be adding some metal. And you gotta be careful. :confused3:

While I have the Bobcat CT 235, my manual says to normally use the top location and the lower ones are for more lift on heavier equipment. I just look at my tractor and the engineer in may says there is a lot more solid metal behind the top position (inline with the force) The lower location appears to put more of a shearing action on the mounting plate. Just my 02
