Hi,

New to the tractor world and just bought an old used ford blade. The bottom links fit perfect in my Cat 1 hookup. However, the top link diameter on the implement seems to be larger and so my top link pin actually just slides ride through.

Is there a bushing I’m looking for to reduce the implement hole sizes or can I just get a different pin that does not slide through, but then is there an issue with the slop in the cat 1 pin size and the diameter of the holes on the implement?

hope this all makes sense and thanks so much!

Maybe some big washers on each side?

You can purchase a bushing to increase the diameter of your Category 1 Top Link pin to Category 2 diameter at Tractor Supply Store, Rural King or other farm oriented retailers. Probably every tractor vender too.

Sounds like you have a category 2 top link. And yes there are bushings to change cat 2 to category 1 pins.

So the top link is definitely a cat 1, but it seems like the holes of the implement are a cat 2 or maybe some type of homemade fix.

My Landpride blade has cat 1 lower pins but the top link pin is 1in dia instead of the std. 3/4, this was for a quick hitch. Landpride sells flanged bushing to reduce the top link pin holes down to 3/4, maybe yours is the same.

These are on the shelf at tractor supply

I haven't seen any flange bushings there, just the standard spacers to increase pin diameters. The ones for mine are a split type and press in so they won't fall out when the pin is removed.

Yeah, a flanged bushing is what I was thinking I would probably need. I’ll go check TSC tomorrow. I guess I should probably also measure the actual diameter of the holes too.

I was actually wrong on my top pin hole size, it's 1.25. Looking at the factory step bushings for the top link they are 1.25OD x.765ID x .70L

What blade do you have?

I haven't converted all my pins to Cat 2. So ... in the mean time - I use bushings on my Cat 1 pins to fit my Cat 2 implements - as needed.

Yep, flanged:
