This is probably the dumbest question ever asked on here, but here goes anyway. On the BX25 top link 3pt hitch, what is the little square shaped loop on the outside of the cylinder used for? Is that where you can put a prybar or something to turn it after it is connected to an implement? I turn mine by hand, but have wondered if I am supposed to be using that as an easier way.

Ding, Ding, Ding; you guessed it. It's just an assist to help turn the outer tube if/when needed. Some have the welded loop like yours and some have a hole through the tube where you can put a straight rod. Keep the threads greased on the top link & you probably will never need it anyway. I always lower the implement to the ground to lessen the load on the top link before adjusting.

Yes, that is just for a screwdriver, or some such other leverage if the threads have paint in them, or the implement is heavy, etc.

Also makes a handy place to put your PTO shaft chains.

Thanks! I will start to use it now, esp for the pto cover chains.
