Toothbar

DREWL - you got an extra tooth on that one, (6). Looks great. The yellow paint wouldn't bother me, it will be gone soon enough or you could hide it real quick with a can of spray paint for 4 bucks. Good Luck with it.

I plan to use the hole in the toothbar to guide the half inch bit from the inside for a centerpunch. Then go in from the inside with a small bit for pilot. Unless of course the 1/2" bit just tears through it like a hot knife through butter. I have a heck of a time getting the pilot holes right where I want the big hole so I need to be creative. I hope the drill will fit from the inside. I have never owned a battery drill.

The wife thinks I am nuts and the toothbar weighs more than half of her weight so she wouldn't touch it.

I've got a shiny new 1/2" bit in the pickup.

I noticed that also! Even more of a deal. More teeth means a coarse York Rake! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

All this tooth bar talk is going to cost my wife some money! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Finally got mine finished, well except for painting, but I don't think I'm going to bother with that, as its a waste of time as far as I'm concerned.

Steve, nice looking job, so what was your total cost? Would your ebay source have more teeth for sale?

Hot dog, got it on. Only took a couple pictures though, none very good.

I used the toothbar hole as a guide to drill the half inch hole from the inside. No messing around with pilot holes, just grabbed the half incher and poked 'er through.

One tip, don't hit the tooth tip directly with the hammer to set the bar on the cutting edge. Turns out the teeth are brittle and will chip. Instead, use a chunk of wood as a bumper.

Here's the weld.

Of course I welded all the way around and some welds weren't as pretty. You don't need to be a good welder as long as you are a good grinder.

Don't let anyone tell you that a coleman geenrator won't run a Lincoln AC225 220 volt welder.

Now I want a welder. Like a FEL, I'm sure I can find a million uses for it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I went to the garage a minute ago to count the teeth on my TB (I don't have much of a social life /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif), I must have gotten really lucky, I've got seven (7) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I don't need no stinkin rake!
Happy New Year to All.
