Hey guys o just got a 72 inch toothbar for my bucket. It's on a dk40, it looks like I have to drill two holes on each side to bolt it on. I just wanted to make sure that's how it's done. I thought it would bolt down through the holes along the front edge of the bucket but not with this design it doesn't. I'm anxious to use it. Because I have a lot of digging to do and hope this makes a difference both on digging and ease on my tractor

Drilling a hole through the both sides of the bucket is a typical method of installation...you're good to go!

May also want to read through the directions on exactally how to install it.

Because I believe most of them are mounted through a hole that is slotted. And contrary to what one might think, you are supposed to mark and drill the hole so it is at the front edge of the slot. This allows you to loosen the bolts, slide it forward so the teeth clear the cutting edge, and flip it up out of the way so you cam back drag if you want.

NOW you tell me!

We just drilled it this morning, I'd bet the exact same 72" tooth bar...

Such is life...:D

Good to know I'm on the right track. I didn't know to put it at the front of the slot I thought I'd center it so it could be adjusted

You never asked:laughing:

And did YOU read the directions????,............or just do the manly thing and throw them away and "wing" it:confused2:

NEITHER!:ashamed:

I let the dealer just do his thing and I watched like a stoopid NOOB!

I noticed the slot on the tooth bar. I wondered what it was for, and I'm an engineer by trade, but did I ask questions? Did I ask for instructions (there were none that I saw). NOPE! :confused2:

Silly NOOB!

Be well,
David

My markham bar didn't come with instructions but it was not hard to figure out. No slotted holes either. I don't miss them at all. Either you need the TB or you don't. You can back drag with the chin of the bucket pretty well.
