Kubota L4300 DX
Hello All,

What should my basic set of tractor tools contain? I'm sure Kubota is all metric (at least I would think). Any recommendations on what tools I should have for general maintenance and repair? Anything special that's needed for 50-100-200 hour tune ups? Any help would be great as I have plenty of standard tools but am lacking in metric. Also, should I invest in a service manual? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yes, the Kubotas are metric. Do pick up the service manual if you're going to do the work yourself, but really all you'll need is a set of metric sockets (3/8" drive will probably do the trick) and maybe a set of combination wrenches. Shouldn't set you back too many $$$. For the filters (oil and hydro) I use one of those strap wrenches.

You might be able to get away without the metric stuff, but will run the risk of rounding off bolts if you use combo wrenches and SAE sockets / wrenches. (But a 1/2" socket will swap out with a 13mm in a pinch /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif).

I'd like to add my 2.5 cents if I may.

If you have bolts for a loader or lawn mower blades they will usually require a 7/8 size or metric equivalent. In the case of big bolts and nuts, high torques are usually the norm and a 3/8 drive can break.

Therefore, I'd like to recommend a half inch drive set in addition to the 3/8 drive already mentioned. I use both types equally.
