I am wanting to mount a small toolbox on my tractor for the things I always seem to need such as hammer, pliers, crescent wrench, etc. I am just curious as to what you guys have used and how and where you mounted them.
I know PineRidge has a nice simple bolt on mount. I built one that went across the lower part of my rops using the rops bolts. I did not have my box blade center link yet. I got my center link and well lets just say there is a dent in my tool box. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do some searching on this forum for "Rops Rack." You should get lots of posts explaining how to make one of these. Easy to do -basically bolt on some angle iron using U-bolts. Then I used a larger-sized ammo box that I attach to the Rops rack with a bungie cord. (the box sits on top of the rack). Simple and effective. The only thing I had to modify was to remove the triangle reflector from the back of my seat.
I took a piece of 1/8 inch by 2" steel and ran it from the base of my ROPS on the left side of the tractor to the base on the right side. I drilled two holes in the piece of steel to match up with the holes in the base of the ROPS, and then used the bolts that hold the ROPS in place to attach my new steel cross member. I then bolted a "pick up truck" box on top of that new steel cross member so my box is installed behind the seat with no actual modification to the tractor. The box is big and while I do carry some emergency wrenches in there (that I've never had to use) it is also large enough to hold a couple of tow straps, 2 pairs of 16" branch loppers (1 bypass, 1 anvil), a small pruning saw, a small hand axe, a bag full of assorted lynch pins, top link pins, etc. Plus things like bug spray and its been known to carry my lunch too!
I bought the truck box from Sears, it is a diamond plate aluminum & steel unit. It was fairly expensive, but I wanted something that was sturdy and weatherproof with an integrated locking lid, in addition to being large. Ammo boxes would also be a good choice and are less expensive, the big drawback was I didn't like the lid arrangement on them or the lack of lock, but they are certainly sturdy. Plastic boxes can be a good choice, the better ones have a rubber seal around the lid to keep out the weather.
I carry stuff in a tool belt that sits on the right angle formed by the FEL loader where it comes back to the vertical arm on the left rear side of the engine. The "stuff" is channel locks, hand pruner, folding pruning saw, scissor type tin snips. I use these a lot from the tractor doing the trails. There are pockets that would hold a hammer and a couple other things.

No: It's for burrying the tools and other stuff under the dirt gravel slag sand etc you are spreading with the FEL.
Freds that's why I didn't say I lost it. know which pile of dirt it's under. But it's much to big to shuffle for a chain. I'll just call it a time capsule of sorts and leave it for the next guy.
