Tool box . . . ?

HF has a metal .50 cal box that would work good.
I was going to purchase the HF .50 cal box and changed my mind because it was pretty weak looking. Thin metal that flexed and looked like they would not hold up without denting and probably rusting quickly. If you could find an actual old military .50 cal box instead of an HF replica it would be a lot stronger. You're going to want to paint it, whatever it is for your shiny new tractor.

An old ammo box - think army surplus store - I have used one of these fastened to the brace on the roll bar for years. Not the small one but the next size up can hold a fair amount. Get some spray paint and paint it to match the tractor
.50 Cal .....Sportsman's Guide used to have Russian ammo boxes which are heavily made

Hi all, new guy here. I bought a T1510 a few weeks ago, to replace my ancient Fergie T020 which I sold last week.

Anybody got ideas for where to attach some sort of small toolbox on the NH? I only need something small to store pins, repair links, pliers, maybe a screwdriver or two.

I was thinking on top of the left fender, but it would have to be small and sit towards the back so I don't rack my elbow on it.

Below is a plastic electrical box from Amazon that would probably work well on the fender.

Or I could take the SMV sign off of the back and use that mount to bolt a steel box to (don't need the SMV sign around here).

You ALWAYS need a SMV sign if you drive on or along a roadway.
It might help those drivers on the road and on the phone to see you before the crash.

I used a 5.56 ammo box to replace the undersized toolbox that came on my B2301. Much handier. Virtually any flat surface that you won't hit with your elbow should work.

On my T1520, I mounted an A&I Products #A-TB11500 Plastic Tool Box behind the seat.

It's not big enough for a hammer, but it has pins, channel locks, screw drivers, & gloves. I cut off the SMV bracket and installed an adhesive backed SMV sign to the back of the seat.
To mount the tool box, I have two pieces of 1/4" flat stock (1" wide, I think) that I attached to the seat belt attaching bolts on the cross bar behind the seat. The two flats extend back to support the box. I cut a piece of 10 gauge steel the same size as the tool box to use as a mounting plate under the tool box for reinforcement. The box is positioned as far back as possible to still allow access to the oil fill port.
I bought mine from Zoro.com, but it's easily available online from other places as well. My box has been on there for a couple years and a couple hundred hours and is still intact.

Late Addition: I did really want something a little bit longer, at least long enough to hold a hammer. But after searching, this was the largest box I could find that would not interfere with having a SMV, seat suspension travel, and access to the oil fill port. The box is not sealed, but I also usually have a rag in it and it usually stays clean enough for most field emergencies. If I ever find a longer box of the same height and depth, I will upgrade.
@toot77 your T1520 looks like it is spit shined in that picture, not a spec of dust on it.

Thanks, I'd like to think I take good of care of it, but it was just a crude rinse with the pressure washer after some dusty rototilling. I think the dark lighting might be hiding some dirt that is there. Taking care of a tractor is half the enjoyment of owning it.

My tractor came with factory tool box mounted behind the seat. way inadequate for me. Her is my solution that I have been real happy with....Bottom loop is for bungee that I thought I might need. Never used it.

For tractors with round FEL cross tubes, a simple tool storage container can be made from PVC pipe:

Not good for large items but great for a length of chain or small hand tools.
