Well I have been working on this project now on and off all summer and I just finished up tonight. I started with a 60" blade off a CJ5 from a family friend, and ended with a fully custom made snow plow. The family friend who gave me the plow is a master at fabrication and offered to help design and build the setup. We originally were going to copy how the Kubota quick hitch attaches to the front of the machine decided that we didn't like hanging it off the front of the frame. So we built a frame that goes back and attaches at the loader mounts. From there we had to modify the original A frame of the plow so it was level and would also clear the ramp of my trailer if and when I would need to load it. One of the original skid shoes were missing so we had to modify the mold board to fit bigger one due to the ungodly cost of buying one the same size as the originals. But we finally got it done. This winter will be much better with a fully hydraulic plow compared to my rear blade in the past. My camera died after one final assembled picture so I will take more and get them up soon! Let me know what you guys think! I hope 4shorts approves!

wow. this puts my homebrew plow to some serious shame. beautiful.

Nice job! That should make it real easy to swap between plow and loader if you need to knock down snow banks once they get too high for the plow to handle.

Thanks! Yes it should switch very easy! You can't see from the picture but it is held on by the same pins as the loader. I put a trailer jack on the right side and crank it up. Balances perfectly, so it's almost like how you take the loader off.

Well two words come to mind reading this and looking at the photos. Exceptional & Outstanding. That's a well thought out project that should last a lifetime. Nice welds and an all around clean factory looking setup. Congratulations

great job! according to the old farmer's almanac you are going to use that this winter!

Seb,
Nice work.
I dug out a shot to help you think about snow. This was the year that I ran out of places to put plowed snow and had to get a rear blower.

Looks real nice. I tend to like attaching a plow to the loader arms, that way you can stack snow as high as the arms go up.

Problem when hooking to the loader arms is you cannot have power angle without adding another valve. Not something I was wanting to do! Easy enough to switch back to loader

I think you can hook the left right angle to what would be the bucket curl hoses. The blade would be set at a fixed angle and float. Either way.. You have a nice set up, sure beats the shovel !

I was thought maybe it was too early to be thinking about snow. But the other day I had to move my snow blower to get 3 tons of wood pellets inside, so I guess the season will be upon us sooner than we'd like.

I just ordered a snow bucket and tire chains for my B2620 the other day.I didn't want to wait until the last minute in case there would be a problem getting the items.

Very nice job and design, Nice welding too. I'll bet you can't wait to try that baby out.

Just rec'd a new snow blade for my B-2620. Can't wait to enjoy the hydro angle feature I was getting tired of jumping off to pull a pin and change the angle of the blade. Probably means that we won't have much snow.

Nice set up. Nice big blade. Mine is a 54" blade, but if I could ever find a beat up 60" for cheap, I upgrade it. Maybe put up a video of how you mount or dismount it when you get a chance. Only question I'd have on your set up is that you won't have down pressure for scraping, but that may not be an issue if the blade is heavy enough.

Very very nice job. I am curious to hear how well the tractor will handle the plow, specs show it is near 1600 lbs.
Is that sand or crushed glass you are using for the blaster? Have you used both and if so which do you like better?

I just finished up installing a Boss plow on mine but obviously haven't tried it yet. I have a bad feeling about the handling of the machine with an 8 ft. straight blade full of snow.

Thanks, Fred

I seriously can't wait to get out in the snow with this new set up!

Sandyc I know the pain of jumping off to pull a pin to change angle. Having hydraulic angle will be a huge time saver!

Thanks CHDinCT! This is a 60" blade and I think it fits my BX perfect. Down pressure shouldn't be a problem this set up has a good amount of weight to it. But I guess time will tell. Ill get a video up next time I'm out at my shop with some extra time.

The Fred: thanks! It handles my 60" read blade fine so I hope this will work better being a bigger mild board and such. This project was sand but I've used glass too. I used to work for a commercial glass company and we would throw all our old glass into a shipping container and take a plate compactor to it, then put it through a hammer mill. Came out perfect for blasting. I don't really have a preference unless I'm getting the glass for free :).

Took a few better pictures today after I mowed around the shop yesterday.
