I've already learned that if I drop a nut or some part while working on my car and can't find it, I can take a high def photo and put it on my computer and find it there easier.:) (while in the air conditioning)

That's an ingenious usage of photography!

Here's another:
When I am disassembling things of complicated design, I'll take pics in stages (just before I start breaking down a certain component) to help me be able to put it back together correctly and efficently. Sometimes tech. manuals are sketchy at best.

I'm not a residential electrician in any way and once I had air conditioning problems on the unit that sits outside the house (condenser?). Anyhow, the problem was electical and required replacement of the electrical box on the side of the unit. It had a plethora of wires coming in from all directions. I took a digital pic of what goes where, printed it and used it to reconnect the wires to the new box. I could have marked them with tape, but it was just easier with a pic.

Pics come in handy too if you ever break down a lever action rifle. Anyone who has ever done any smithing on one will know what I'm talking about...springs, levers, pins and pawls everywhere. Breaking it down in stages and taking quality pics as you go alleviates confusion when reassembling!

Good day.

We just had some new visitors today that I spotted out my window while I was on the computer. They were about 500 feet away when I got this shot. There are many of them in this area but I have not seen them this close to my house before. Do you think I have something to worry about?

Then, a little while later, this fellow sits on my window sill. I am having a big problem with squirrels this year. They are eating everything I grow from peaches to persimmons, pecans, plums, pears, and even apples. Come squirrel season, I will be letting some of my friends remove these varmits from my yard.

Tonight, while I'm typing this up, I look at the window and spot a lizard considering making a meal out of a big ole fly. The camera's flash scared off the fly so I didn't get to see if it was too big for the lizard to handle.

I am constantly amazed at the wildlife I see on my property lately. It seems like as they develop new neighborhoods not too far from me, it is driving more and more wildlife to my little sanctuary. All I have to do is to walk out the back door without my camera and I will spot something unusual for sure:rolleyes:

Coming soon.....more animal photos on my property....I hope:)

Today we had some Cattle Egrets visiting. These are the most common birds we have around here and the most desired. The horses love them because they will follow the horses around and pick off the horse flies before they get a chance to bite the horse. They always follow right behind the tractor when bush-hogging so they can grab the insects that the tractor stirs up:)

When I was at the Citadel (military college) the ibis would gather on the parade ground if there had been a lot of rain.

Invariably we always had tough, fishy tasting fried chicken in the chow hall the next day.
