I still eat food off the floor if I can. The problem with the 3 second rule is I have a .75 second dog.

I built a snatch block for my winch and got my ripper tacked together. I'll probably end up cutting it apart and adjusting the angle, and then welding it sold and adding more bracing. IMG_9097.JPGIMG_9116.JPG

Finished up a set of racks for the little truck. With the plastic bed and tonneau cover, I made it sit down on the bed floor against the frame.
They won't stay in there all the time and will be held in with turnbuckles. Prime & paint next.

LOL, good point. I have 2 of them and that time may be on a slow day.

That time is when he's not sitting and waiting for food. In that case sometimes it never hits the ground. IMG_9121.JPG

Ha ha, looks just like mine when someone is cutting up veggies or eating something the dogs love (like a banana) at the bar. They know better when we are eating at the table. Their stomach dictates almost everything, not unlike most of us...lol. Cute pooch BTW.

Finished up a new cart on casters for my dust separator/vac system that will be partnered with my HF sandblast cabinet also under construction/modification. Wanted to stack the system to save floor space which is at a premium. Also need it to be mobile to hook up to other tools as well. Already tried out the effectiveness of the little dust deputy and it works as good as advertised!

I got my ripper finished. I cut some "high precision" braces and welded those in. My buddy's saying for work like that is "good thing we're welders not machinist". We're actually better at machining than welding, but sometimes there's no point in doing better work. Then I hard faced the cutting edge. That was an interesting experience since 7018s and and a few 6018s is the only other rods I've used. I had a 50 pound box of hard facing rods laying around otherwise I'd have just used a 7018 rod. Against what some people say, based on my experience 7018 is considerably harder than mild steel.IMG_9164.JPGIMG_9165.JPGIMG_9166.JPG

Yesterday I built a kindling splitter. It doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. The blade is too blunt. I'm going to take a grinder and grind it back some. A 3/8 thick blade instead of the 1/2 I used would have been better. After I built it I realized I had some retired wood chipper blade laying around. That would have been the best choice.IMG_9161.JPGIMG_9162.JPG

Today was a great day (the sun came out here finally) and for my shop! Didn't get anything done but did make a great score on a JET Air Filtration system w/remote and 4 Bessey large K-clamps, plus 4 clamp blocks. $150 for all. Figured $600 new and all in very good condition. Rare for me to find quality stuff I really need in great shape for a great price. :cool2:

This MAY be of interest to you. You should be able to find articles of it and others on line.

I have that magazine with others of the series. Also plenty of pieces pre cut to make several more. Made first one several years ago for the grand kids ------ now teenagers and still play it!

Dragoneggs, nice air system. I found it worked great in my last shop, though I put a fairly loose weave filter in front of the opening
if I was painting or doing a lot of sanding, to preserve the internal filters.
It blows enough air to cool your shop a bit too.

Thanks daugen, in fact I was wondering about spray paint effect. I saw a youtube vid where the guy increased the efficiency by replacing the pre-filter with a two larger cheap furnace filters making a prism shape to more than double the intake area. I thought that was a great idea. Plugged it in and it works great... now just have to figure out a good location on the ceiling that doesn't get in the way and I have convenient 'line of sight' for the remote control. I like the fact it has a timer (2,4, and 8hr) for auto off! Quiet too!

I have one in my shop and it works pretty good. One improvement I'm glad I made was make a lowered mount for it. My shop has 10 or slightly higher foot ceilings and I couldn't reach it if it was mounted directly to the ceiling. I made a mount that lowers the buttons on it to just inside of my maximum reach. The point of this is I have a hard time keeping up with the remote.
