Oldpath you are 100% right about that. The house was built about 25 yrs ago. The shingles are absolute top quality redwood, expertly installed. Probably good for another 30 years maybe more. But they were weathered almost black and made the house kind of ugly, The Chief Executive Officer decided we needed to modernize. So I am replacing the shingles with California white cedar shiplap. Not my priority but I have to admit the place looks much brighter and cleaner.
I started my house in 1980, it's still not done never will be done because I cant stand finish work and maintenance work is bout has bad, but it's livable and better than a hut on Gilligan's Island...
My "tractors and wood" today was, I took some white oak splits over to a neighbor lady, who needed some firewood,
