TODAYS SEAT TIME

i too would love to have a mini excavator, have rented them many times over the years.

but seeing as to how much real use i would get out of the thing, it would be a real waste of money. My good friend has 2 he uses in business and the maintenance on those is monumental. lots of parts that can rust and freeze up if not maintained properly, and more so if not used alot.

Burying trash?

Man I'd love to have an excavator like that... I'd barely use it, but I still want one.

You'd probably use it more than you realize. Or buy one used, get your projects done then sell it for about the purchase price.

Get my projects done.... Very funny.

My Kubota sucks at pulling stumps though, sure would be handy for that!

Depending on the size of your stumps you probably would need something bigger than shown in that picture though... more like the size of his big machine.

I might pull a few with that but you better step up to at minimum this for doing very many. The Kubota 40 is still a vast improvement over a tractor backhoe though. IMG_8748.JPG BTW the case 80 isn’t mine.

All of my seat time lately is removing old siding shingles. It takes a fair amount of force and a long prybar to get them off. The tractor with forks and converted IBC tote makes it safe and easy compared to a ladder. Compared to a scaffold, I can get positioned in the right place very quickly. After a bunch of shingles are on the ground, I drop the forks/cage and pick up the bucket. Then rake the shingles into the bucket and dump into the dump trailer. This makes a tedious and laborious job pretty easy.
