Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

Today is the day they deliver my new B7500! I'm so excited, I feel like a kid in a candy shop!!!!

The dealer I bought through didn't have an HSD in stock, so he had to go to the warehouse in Stockton to get it. That was (apparently) a major hassle, as the warehouse only has 3 bays to load trucks from. There are so many dealers getting so many tractors/implements through this one warehouse, that the normal "wait" is about two weeks! He ended up pleading with the warehouse manager to allow him to come down with one little truck to load my tractor and a couple other attachments. Got it done, but he was amazed at the zoo at the warehouse. Said trucks were lined up 10 deep in the street waiting their turn to get up to the loading dock.

Anyway, the tractor is being assembled complete with a Gearmore T&T kit. So when I get it, I plan on borrowing my neighbors digital camera so I can upload the T&T setup here (you listening Bird?).

Just in the nick of time too. A major storm is hitting the Bay Area as I type this, so I will be happy to do a little R&R on our gravel road tomorrow (or maybe tonight!!!!).

Sitting on pins and needles,

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

Man, do I envy you! Vermont was hit with a pretty good freezing rain today, so all roads are slick with ice. And since my new L3010 is coming from North Carolina, the trucker is sure to drive slowly if a snowflake hits the windshield! Enjoy, and get down off that 7500 long enough to post a couple of pics.

Glue Guy,

Christmas in February! Congrats and enjoy. We just received 7 inches of fresh white stuff here in NW MO. Guess what I'm doing tonight! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: Today is "T" day!!!!!!!!!

Sounds great! Hope you get yourself a good gully washer so you "have" /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif to fix the drive!

Like others, I am eager to see the T&T kit photos. But, from the amount of "fun" Bird is having and factoring in his greater level of Hydro-knowledge than mine, I wonder if that dealer price is so bad after all.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif In fact, it's starting to sound pretty good!

Have a safe and fun time on that mean machine /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

Todd, T&T is either "Top 'N Tilt" or "Tip 'N Tilt" which means replacing the manually adjustable 3-point hitch top link and side link(s) with hydraulic cylinders so you can adjust the tilt of blades (or other implements) front to back and side to side from the driver's seat.

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

What's an average installed price for the T&T, an what are the brands to look for?? Thanks in advance.

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

M. Sullivan, I don't know about an "average" price, but the first time I asked my dealer about it for the B2710, he said Kubota didn't make a "kit" for the B series tractors, although they did for the bigger tractors for about $1,400. I believe LarryT, in California, said his dealer charged him $600 for his on his B2910 (at the same time he was buying the tractor). Then I found that Tisco has a "kit" for the B8200/9200 and one dealer priced it to me at $861 plus labor. I bought those components, minus the hoses, plus an optional hydraulic outlet, then had hoses made locally, did the installation myself, and have put more than $800 into it, but part of that was having 3 more hoses made because I mismeasured once, changed my mind about how I wanted to do it once, etc./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif It's been an interesting learning experience to say the least, but I'd say if your dealer will do it for a thousand or less, that's probably the best way to go. As far as brands, I don't know what's best. I'm using Tisco products; they seem to be good, but I don't like the idea of no paperwork of any kind; no written warranty, instructions, etc. I think if they have the right components, I'd rather go with Baileynet.com. I believe some others have used Gannon products and LarryT named some brands I never heard of, so I don't know whether one brand is any better than another.

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

glueguy--They delivered my B7500 HST on Friday with a new FEL and 60" finish mower. Little early in northern VA for grass but looking forward to a bumper crop. The FEL works marvelously with the cutting bar attached. Thus far, I have no complaints other than too much moisture in the ground causing me to leave tracks everywhere.

Gotta run, the temperature is climbing above freezing and I'm sure there is some dirt somewhere that needs moved.

Anxious to hear how the T&T works,

woodie

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

What a couple of days it has been!

Friday after I wrote the beginning of this thread, lightning struck our phone line (while my wife was on the phone!).

She's OK, but she really got her bell rung. The modems on our computers did not fair so well. She has a computer for her home business, & I use one for TBN, plus my work downtown. Both computers were attached to the phone line, and the modems were crispy - to well done after the incident.

Took delivery on the B7500 Friday night, but we were in the middle of a storm, so I swapped out the rear mower, and just put the new baby in the garage for the night. Sure like the foldable ROPS. Now I _KNOW_ the B7500 will not fit in the garage without the ROPS folded down.

Saturday morning we had to run to the computer store for new modems (and modem surge protectors !!!!). On the way down, CalTrans (CA Hiway Dept.) had the road blocked & was only letting residents through because of the snow. Just the same, there were about 4 cars along the way that were unable to negotiate the snow, and landed in the ditch. We asked, and were assured that they would let us back through.

Fast forward a couple of hours, we came back up the hill (Hi-Way 9 above Saratoga), and they wouldn't let us through. Said the road was blocked with multiple accidents. Sheesh, they just told us they would let us through. We ended up going back down via Redwood Gultch, up to Palo Alto, then up Page Mill Road. Total delay: 1.5 hours.

By the time we got home, the rain/snow had let up long enough that I _HAD_ to take the baby out for an hour or so just to clean up the road a little (don't never mind the computer maintenance).

The T&T works great! I now know that I have a _LOT_ of learning to do with the box scraper T&T combo /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

The B7500 starts like a little Singer sewing machine, runs smooth and quiet. I am very happy so far, and will be calling my next door neighbor RSN about that digital camera!

Re: Today is "T" day!!!!!!!!!

GlueGuy -

Wow! As I was reading your post, talking about the lightning, the snow and freezing temperatures, I was thinking, "man, I'm glad I live in the good ol' SF Bay Area!". Then you mentioned CalTrans and I remembered you're just down the road from me! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Sure enough, we got snow on Mt. Diablo, which means my tractor property got plenty, too. I have mixed feelings about not being there -- It would be fun to try pushing snow around, but the road to get there can be really treacherous in these conditions.

I'm way happy and a little jealous of your new orange machine, especially with the T&T. Hope we get to see pictures real soon. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

WOW talk about when it rains it pours..whew,glad you folks are okay from the lighting strike.

Saw the type of weather you folks had on the news last night, its sort of been a strange year out there...maybe your highway department could use a little help w/the side roads. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Today is \"T\" day!!!!!!!!!

I posted a few pictures in the photo section. One is titled "New B7500", and the other is some detail pix on the T&T kit I got installed on it.

For those interested, the T&T kit ran from $750 to $1500 installed, depending on who did the installing. The paackage I got included the T&T for about $1000, which seems very reasonable, especially since they got it all together in a couple of hours.
