kioti ck2510
I recently purchased a used ck2510. 91 hrs on it, the fluids were changed at 72 hrs. previous owner is deceased. I checked the oil, and the level is about 3/4 inch above the second notch on dipstick. I have no owners manual yet, as it is on order. Does not appear to have water in it. Runs great. Any thoughts other than someone overfilled it? I think previous owner was very mechanically inclined. Even painted on filters the hrs when done. The type oil was Akcela sae 15-40 cj-4, by case. also used akcela HY-TRAN ultraction hydraulics? Thanks

A little over I wouldn't worry at all. 3/4" is pretty far so I'd drain some vs risk a seal failure.

I think Akcela is oem NH fluid so should be fine. If you aren't getting abnormal HST whine (and would have to compare to one on dealer lot to know probably) I wouldn't worry about that.

Also, check cold, on level surface just to be sure if you were checking in the field right after use.

If you are running on relatively flat ground, my guess is you won’t have any issues. Now on steep ground, that extra oil might cause an issue as it sloshes over to one side of the pan, possibly submersing part of the crank shaft.

If you are at all concerned, simply drain some out.

DEF. DRAIN IT OFF & KEEP AN EYE ON IT..
The last thing u want is to have something go boom because of diluted engine oil.

As other already said...plus your not running cold cold weather drain oil to mark.

Good idea. I will remove some it and see if I can tell if it is diluted with fuel or water. I am lucky if anything is wrong, as the tractor is under warranty till july of this year.

Interesting! I don't know how hydro oil could get into the crankcase but from experience I know how fuel can get in. I changed oil in my truck that uses 9 qts of oil. . This time I filled my drain pan and it was still coming out. I drained approx 20 quarts of oil out. That's a lot. It accumulated over 5k miles so it didn't jump up overnight. I was just used to never checking the oil because it was never low.

Refilled with oil and watched the level over a week and it seemed okay. A couple weeks later I took it to a diesel repair shop just because, and they ended up changing the fuel pump as it was leaking fuel into the crankcase. I wouldn't be to concerned about a little over but a extra few quarts of oil isn't the best. Check before every use to get a base line for usage.

PS Pumps are expensive.

Hydro oil can enter the crank case if the seal is bad on the pump and it’s driven by the gears on the front of the engine, just like your injector pump more than likely did.

Good advice. Inspect the "extra" oil that was drained. If there is much water/coolant in the oil it looks like chocolate milk; that would be a bad thing and costly to fix. If it's Diesel fuel you can probably smell it in your oil sample. If it's hydraulic fluid the hydraulic fluid level will decrease. Always check the hydraulic fluid level with the tractor on level ground and loader/attachments in the same position.
