new Holland TN55S
Hi Folks

I have just bought a New Holland TN55S, with no prior knowledge of tractors, and no manual.

I am fine with the three point hitch, but I cannot figure out how to lower the towing hook so I can tow a trailer.

Can anyone out there help?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome from another UK resident. Unfortunately I cannot find anything about your tractor here

I'm a little bit puzzled to be honest. Is there not a drawbar on it? You may need to acquire a pin for it.

I thought so. If you have a look here you can see the drawbar between the lower links. That's what you need.

I managed to find it this morning. This is what you should have.

Messicks, I believe applies to Americaland (though no reason not to use it for clues) whereas what I've linked to applies to Englandland. Probably worth your while, Mike, to register there.

EDIT: Hmmm, that link doesn't appear to be working. Let's try this

EDIT 2: Not having much luck with my links. Looks like you'll have to start here.

Thanks Guys

Here's a link to a photo of the hook that I cannot work out how to lower or extend:

Any ideas very welcome!

I have worked out how to do it - a combination of the float control and a valve lever- so now I can buy myself a trailer!

Mike,

I don't know the purpose of the solid horizontal piece below the PTO shaft.

My TN55 (standard model) doesn't have that piece. I'm no expert, but I don't recall seeing anything like it on other tractors.

I can't tell from the photo -- is it bolted in place?

I'm probably less of an expert than smstony but, to me, that setup looks very strange.
