You might be able to add the 7th function. Spend some time looking at the valve block for the 'hoe in the parts book. You might only need the 7th valve itself, longer bolts and of course the pedal/control linkages... Cost is another issues, but it might not be too bad. I can say a thumb is a wonderful thing.

Yes, the thumb operates from a seventh valve that is stacked to the end of the existing backhoe control valves. It does not operate from the optional rear remotes, they are separate control systems.

I bought most of the parts needed for the seventh valve option from a Deere dealer two years ago. This included the valve, longer bolts, hoses and quick couplers. As I recall the cost was about $1000. I did not buy the mechanical control linkage as I believe I can fabricate them with the help of pictures that I took of another machine. I have not installed the parts yet.
