Titan 7 foot rotary mower.

The Woods is a really nice looking unit . I bought an Everything Attachment 6ft. cutter and not so pleased with it , wish I had bought the woods instead . They only give a 1 year warranty on the gear box and the unit is no where near as rugged as the Woods unit above for sure . I only mow pasture land with mine and the noise it makes is almost unbearable , I wear all the ear protection I can get on to cop with it . I use to enjoy mowing but not with this one . They sent me a new very rugged pto shaft but it didn't help the noise factor at all . The gear box seems to be fine as I changed the gear oil and didn't find anything in the old oil . The deck material isn't as heavy as my old bush hog so that may be a factor . The unit was on pallet when they sent it out but when I received it there was only a small piece of the pallet left on top of the unit . I should have refused shipment but couldn't see any really bad damage . I had waited so long to get it and needed it to do some mowing .

Last year I was in the market for a 10' cutter. Turby_1600 was near me so I went and looked at his Titan 1810. (Thanks Turby) I was impressed enough that I drove to a dealer 2 hours away and bought one.
For me, it has been a very good piece of equipment. I mow only pastures and have put a little over 60 hours on it so far. It does what its supposed to do and has given me zero problems.

I have only used mine twice. But I have some very thick stuff to knock down and will give it a fair assessment as I do. I can see how the guard could get knocked down and bent. I will try to keep that in mind as I use mine. So far I am very pleased.

Be careful everyone with the Titan cutter gear boxes. Just smoked one on my new 1810. Called the factory and they told me that the EP-0 grease is to “just get you started” or some such nonsense. The new cutter manual says to fill the gear boxes with 85W-140 heavy gear oil up to the over flow port. I advise you to do this!

Did they cover it under warranty? Is the cutter new? If not, how old?

I had one 'smoke' on an 1810 too. They sent a new gearbox but didn't say anything about replacing the grease. Getting someone to install it was the not fun part.

Thankfully I haven't had any problems since then.

You got it. I just bought the cutter in December. It's only been out twice and it's already at the point that it's damaged. I get it that I hit a stump. However, father-in-law has an old MX5 that's rough and the guards are still in place on his. He's hit many a rock and stump. The manufacturer's design is flawed. That's my beef; The sheet metal should not hang below the deck. It's destined to get bent in this rugged terrain.

Are you saying that the Titan has the same issue as Mahindra and/or Titan is a subsidiary or is made by Mahindra? My research shows Titan to be American owned in Decatur, TN. and haven't found ties to Mahindra.

Titan is sold near me and I am in the market for a solid brush hog and forks and I'd rather spend my money on solid/proven equipment even at a higher price.

Thanks

Mahindra implements are made by Kodiak, as I recall. An American company. Titan is also an American company.
is the John Deere MX 7 heavier built than the Titan? Well it costs over $5,000 so it had better be. I paid 2195 for my Titan plus 500 for the chain guards. I didn't think I was buying an MX7. I knew that I was buying a less expensive cutter and trying to stretch my money as far as possible. So far it has done an amazing job. Actually the transformation to the land has been miraculous.
