Rob:
none of your simple drawings need any forgiveness!
Great Idea.

My kubota comes with protectors already so I won't need it.

Wouldn't it be cool if the tire valves could be pushed down below rim height like on those blow up mattresses.:) What about making a recessed tire valve for tubeless tires that sat sub-flush on the rim? To keep dirt and grit out of the recessed counter bore, you could have a snap in plastic cap or just hose them out if you wanted.

Rob,

You mean something like this???
Summit SUM-G1958 - Summitï½® Chrome Tire Valves - summitracing.com

Looks like somebody already beat you to it :p .

It would only work on tubeless tires though. You can buy them for 5/8 or 7/16 holes.

Or use the type in footballs. Of course they leak but they are protected. kt

Hi Chris,
Yeah, looks like those are super low profile.
Do you know if they mount those on a recessed part of the rim like in my drawing?
In my fantasy world, the recess on the rim is the key to get the whole thing below the outside of the rim. Those valves would only need a very slight recess.
Those are neat!

Rob,

No, they just mount flush with the rim. Would be hard to knock off though, as they stick out very little.

Chris
