I have the B3200 with the standard Ind tires not filled. I was thinking of lowering the rear pressure a bit. What do you all run on similar tractors.

Can't answer specificly since I have a different tractor. But why do you want to lower the pressure? What psi does the manual say to run?

The rears particularity feel over stiff. The manuals say 35 front and 20 rears. I am fine with the fronts but am considering 17 to 18 in the rear. Just wandering if anybody else had done any adjustments.

Loader tires right?
Think you will find it stiff if no air. Just the design of the
tires.

He said not filled.

I think it's partly the R4's are very hard.

While waiting for my Tractor with R4's I read an article that said unless you run on flat pavement don't even think of R4's, because that's what they are designed for. So I switched to Turfs. I can't imagine doing the dirt road I do with R4's, my butt would have bruises.

I wonder why they sell so many of them (R4's), seems to be the tire of choice on the lots these days. Maybe because they don't dig things up like the ags but have more traction than the turfs? I take my loaded R4 equipped b2620 on my wood road here in rocky Maine, not exactly a ride like a Mercedes but then it is a tractor in the woods. You mean ags would be a smoother ride? My neighbors ags on his b7800 really rip up the gravel subdivision road in the spring that's for sure.

No and no and no, the minute you lower the tire pressure the tires sidewall pressure is reduced and the side walls of the tires will flex more and crack eventually the R4 is ment for traction and stability and you will lose both and the tires eventually.

The R4 tire side wall like any other tire has a weaker sidewall to allow for easy mounting and dismounting of the tire.

The tire will have its rated tire pressure for minimum and maximum loading just as an automobile will have.

what you are dealing with is simply the R4 tires compressed air in the tire reacting to the ground or pavement-no different than bouncing a ballon-granted its an oversimplification buuuut.

Loading the tires will reduce the bouncing and better the ride as the tractor itself is not very heavy in total weight.

Mine did ride better after I had the R4 tires loaded, not as much bounce at the back end when going over rough terrain.
