I have a 1500D with the original rice tires. I can not find any tire pressure numbers on the tires themselves. Can anyone recommend what pressure the front and rear tires should be running?

Thanks!

The YM169d book (for my 1401d) says rear tires (8-16 size) should be 23 psi max. Your 1500 might have 18" rear tires, but this might be close. Front tires (6-12) is 18 psi max.

Anybody else have a 1500d that can answer? Or should I run them with 23 rear and 18 front as jwjimbo does in his 1401d?

You want to run them with enough pressure to keep from spinning the wheels in the tire. 15PSI and up should keep you from doing that. From there it really depends on the load you putting on the back. If they are sagging they need more. If when your driving around you don’t see the full tread profile on the ground you have to much pressure.

One thing I forgot to mention: Like Buck said, it depends on the load. All my tractors have a front end loaders. I have tubes in the front tires and with the loader, I kick them up to 28 psi. This makes it more stable and easier to steer with a load. I had one I bought that when I checked, it came with 55 psi in the front tires! You bet I bled that down real quick!

I have a 1500D with rice tires. The pressure is on the tire but the units are kilopascal (kpa) a metric unit of pressure. This converts to somewhere around 20 psi.

A good approximation, 100 kpa = 15psi (close enough for tire pressure anyway - but for the purist 101.325 kpa = 14.6960 psi).

If anyone is interested, I have a small computer program that will convert almost anything, including: power, torque and pressure, to and from metric.
I couldn't attach it because it was too large for TBN, but if anyone wants it, email me and I will send it to you.

Yeah,
I've got it as well. Called convert.exe, 586k. Where do you think I got that conversion?

please advise cost of program and your mailing address.

Send me your email address and I'll send it to you. I don't sell software. I'm just doing a favor for all of you fellow gray Yanmar users that don't know the conversions.

PS
Fill out your profile, I could have got your email address from there.

Someone on this group suggested that 1kpa is 14psi. My rear tires say 1.6kpa so that's 22psi and the front says 2.2kpa so that's just over 30psi. These are the Bridgestone deep lug rice patty tires.
